The Municipality of Nafplio and the Αrgolis Club for UNESCO in cooperation with the CONCORD company, organized a performance of the internationally renowned dance group Martha Graham Dance Company, on the occasion of its tour in Greece on Saturday, July 5th in  Nafplio .
On July 3rd the top performers of the dance band Martha Graham Dance Company  offered Master Class dance lessons in Nafplio with free participation (www.fougaro.gr).
The oldest dance company of America, Martha Graham Dance Company, created by the leading dancer , choreographer and dance teacher Martha Graham, who loved Greece and drew much of her inspiration from the inexhaustible source of Greek mythology , began this tour in Greece from the city of Nafplio and  continued in Thessaloniki ( 7 & 8/7 ), Ithaca ( 10/7 ) and completed the performances at Herod Atticus ancient theatre ( 12/7 ) as part of the Athens Festival 2014.
The theme of this year's artistic season of Martha Graham Dance Company, « Myth and Metamorphosis" indicates the long and dynamic relationship of the " Dancer of the Century ," as she was called by Time magazine, the " Woman - Symbol " with Greece , but also the continuation of this relationship by her successors .
The program includes the choreography Errand (1947 & 2013) based on the myth of Theseus , the choreography Echo (2014) choreographed by Anthony Foniadakis (for Martha Graham Dance Company), and the work Panorama (1935), a choreography trademark of the dance company in which students of the Greek State School of Dance participated.
A top cultural event of the Martha Graham Dance Company, which maintains the myth and continuing the work of the great artist projecting the grandeur of Greek culture worldwide.
