The Center of European Studies and Humanities “Ioannis Capodistrias” is a non-profit Organization, founded in 1994, by Dr Costas Zilemenos and is recognized as a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) by the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Center's main aim is to promote all facets of the hellenic culture in civilization, both in Greece and abroad.
In order to achieve this aim, the Center collaborates with private and public organizations, hellenic and foreign universities and various research organizations.The Center functions with three sections: history and modern institutions, research and technologie, arts and culture.
The Center has organized a number of conferences and lectures on a variety of subjects including history and socio-economic topics, as well as topics on the energy security in europe, protection of the environementa and economic european development.It has also undertaken developemental programs in collaboration with the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs (YDAS) in the Balkans and Turkey.
The Centre for European Studies and Humanities "Ioannis Capodistrias", collaborates  with various universities in Greece and abroad as well as various international Organizations,  institutions, cultural bodies   and especially with the European Union and UNESCO in order to  achieve its aims. It has three  sections:  history & humanities, technology / research and environment,  arts & culture.

The Center's Declaration cites the following points, among others:

"To engender the right Relations amongst European nations that have endured a number of centuries from the Amphictyonic Council to Maastricht developing and evolving to their present state of unification.
Churchill, Monnet, and Schumann, promoted the European Idea with the support of Adenauer, De Gasperi, and De Gaulle, after the end of the 2nd World War. Ioannis Capodistrias, the first governor of Greece, who had already distinguished himself as a great political leader, during the first quarter of the nineteenth century, was also one of the 1st Europeanists of Modern European History who had, moreover propagated the selfsame ideas a century before.
Ioannis Capodistrias granted to European History the composition of the Eptanisian State (επτανησιακού Κράτους), the independence and the neutrality of Switzerland, the federal structure of the German nation, the restitution of the unity of France.
He exhausted all possibilities for detente and gradual european disarmament; the abolition of slave trade; the elimination of piracy; the consolidation of the european system of neutral political federations; the breakdown of the exclusive fourfold alliance of 1815. He brought attention to public condemnation of the principle of intervention in foreign affairs. He encouraged the founding of a supranational European organization, and the adoption of the institution of mediation as a means of solving international differences. He introduced significant legislation for the protection of human rights, and the gradual decolonization of the colonies....."
