Recognizing the great importance of Health, the difficulties  in many parts of the world  to access this fundamental good and the new forms of threats that must be urgently addressed on a global scale, the UN declared the second decade of the 21st century (2010-2020) as the decade of health protection.

The start of the campaign to defend the fundamental asset of Health is to pay tribute and show the enormous work done by a leading figure and pioneer in the field of nursing, Florence Nightingale to whom the  year 2010 was dedicated and  designated as the "International Year of Nurses," to mark the completion of 100 years in memory.
